Welcome to your use of "PuRead" software (hereinafter referred to as "the Software").
This document describes how the Software handles privacy data during its operation.
To enhance the quality of software services or optimize operational effectiveness, the Software may collect necessary user information and software operation data.
The reasons for data collection include, but are not limited to, managing paid features, improving the Software, and optimizing advertisements.
The scope of data collection includes, but is not limited to, necessary user information, software operation data, and user device information.
"User-imported data" refers to data that users actively import into the Software for reading, such as documents, books, and other reading materials. This includes but is not limited to the following types of data:
Example 1: Book files that users import from local storage into the Software for reading.
Example 2: Book files that users download from cloud drives (such as Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.) and import into the Software for reading.
"Non-user-imported data" refers to data that is read or generated during the operation of the Software and is not actively imported by the user. It is categorized into the following two types:
Non-user-imported data stored on user-owned storage media
The "user-owned storage media" includes but is not limited to reading devices and cloud drives.
To protect reading privacy, the Software stores non-user-imported data on the user-owned storage media whenever possible.
This includes, but is not limited to, essential user information, software operation data, and user device information.
Non-user-imported data stored on servers operated by the Software owner
The "Servers" includes, but is not limited to, physical servers and cloud servers.
To protect reading privacy, the Software stores non-user-imported data on servers operated by the Software owner only when necessary. For example, account information must be stored on the Software's associated servers.
The following provisions apply to "user-imported data":
By default, user-imported data is stored only on storage media owned by the user. The Software does not collect or store such content on storage media not owned by the user.
Under special circumstances, the Software will collect and store relevant content only after obtaining the user's explicit and recordable authorization for lawful use.
Users shall ensure the legality of the imported data and guarantee that they have the necessary authorization to use the imported data.
The following provisions apply to "non-user-imported data stored on user-owned storage media":
Such data may contain sensitive information related to the user's identity and behavior. Users are responsible for ensuring the security of data stored on their own storage media.
To enhance the quality of software services and optimize operational effectiveness, the Software may collect such data for lawful analysis and use.
By default, the Software ensures that such data is anonymized through technical means before being securely stored and lawfully used.
Under special circumstances, the Software will collect and use such data in a non-anonymized manner only after obtaining the user's explicit and recordable authorization.
The following provisions apply to "non-user-imported data stored on servers operated by the Software owner":
Such data may contain sensitive information related to the user's identity and behavior and is, by default, used to ensure the normal operation of the Software's business logic.
To enhance the quality of software services and optimize operational effectiveness, the Software may collect such data for lawful analysis and use.
When accessing such data for purposes other than ensuring the normal operation of business logic, the Software, by default, ensures that the data is anonymized through technical means before being lawfully analyzed and used.
When accessing such data for purposes other than ensuring the normal operation of business logic, the Software will collect and use such data in a non-anonymized manner only under special circumstances and after obtaining the user's explicit and recordable authorization.
Under normal circumstances, only the owner of the Software has access to the data collected by the Software. In exceptional cases, the owner of the Software may authorize third parties to access the data legally.
This Section 5 outlines the agreements for sharing and disclosing different types of data under various exceptional circumstances (for descriptions of data types, refer to Section 3).
If government authorities lawfully request access to data, the provisions for different types of data are as follows:
User-imported data: Not provided (The Software does not actively collect such data and therefore cannot provide it).
Non-user-imported data stored on user-owned storage media: Not provided (The Software collects this data in an anonymized manner and cannot provide it).
Non-user-imported data stored on servers operated by the Software owner: The Software owner will provide government authorities with only the legally required, minimized data and inform the relevant users.
For operational purposes (such as improving service quality), when sharing data with trusted third-party service providers, the agreements for different data types are as follows:
User-imported data: Not shared (The Software does not actively collect this data, so there is no data to share).
Non-user-imported data stored on user-owned storage media: Only anonymized data may be shared, and third parties must follow strict data protection rules.
Non-user-imported data stored on servers operated by the Software owner: Only anonymized data may be shared, and third parties must follow strict data protection rules.
If the Software's ownership changes, the new owner must comply with all terms in this document during the transition. In this case, data may be transferred as an asset. The agreements for different data types are as follows:
User-imported data: No transfer (The Software does not actively collect this data, so there is no data to transfer).
Non-user-imported data stored on user-owned storage media: The Software anonymizes this data upon collection and may transfer the anonymized data.
Non-user-imported data stored on servers operated by the Software owner: Only data essential for maintaining business operations may be transferred in a non-anonymized form; all other data may only be transferred in an anonymized form.
